About the Alumni Association

Founded in 1975 following the first Victorian Society Summer School held in London, the Alumni Association of the Victorian Society in America connects graduates of the Newport, London, and Chicago Summer Schools. Our members share a passion for Victorian-era architecture, art, and culture, and are committed to advancing the mission of the Victorian Society in America.

The Alumni Association supports and encourages the programs of the VSA by:

  • Promoting the Victorian Society Summer Schools and scholarship opportunities.
  • Providing networking, educational, and social opportunities for alumni.
  • Partnering with organizations and institutions to host events and programs that highlight Victorian heritage.

Encouraging ongoing engagement in preservation and the study of the 19th and early 20th centuries.Through events, study tours, lectures, and receptions—many co-sponsored with partner organizations—the Alumni Association fosters connections among alumni while also introducing new audiences to the Summer Schools. Our members include preservation professionals, scholars, museum staff, architects, historians, and enthusiasts from across the country.
By engaging our network, we help recruit future Summer School participants who often become lifelong advocates for historic preservation. Whether you are reconnecting with classmates, attending a special program, or contributing your time and talents, you are an essential part of keeping Victorian heritage alive.
